Merit is a new, broad-spectrum systemic insecticide that is very effective at very low use rates. Merit controls insects by both contact and ingestion. It can be applied as a foliar spray, soil broadcast spray, soil injection or soil drench. Because Merit is systemic, soil applications will be taken up by the roots and moved upward into stems, twigs and foliage. Foliar applications are absorbed into the leaves, but foliar absorption is less efficient than root absorption. The most effective long-term insect control is obtained from soil applications.

Common Rose Pests Controlled: Aphids, Bristly Rose Slug, Japanese Beetles, Rose Leaf Hoppers, Scale, Thrips & Whitefly.

Other Uses: Merit 75 WSP is a broad spectrum systemic insecticide that controls many different species of both sucking and chewing insect pests on a wide range of ornamental plants. It can also be used as a drench application without specialized equipment for long term control of the same pests in landscape shrubs and trees of any height. As a turf spray for grubs, weevils and other turf pests.

Rate & Combinations: .5 teaspoons per 5 gallons of water. Merit 75WSP has been found to be compatible with most commonly used fungicides, miticides, liquid fertilizers, and other insecticides. Kinetic is the recommended adjuvant for Merit.

HOW IT WORKS: The insecticide dissolved in water moves down through the soil, where it is absorbed by the roots. Once absorbed, it moves up through the tree or shrub providing year-long insect protection. Bayer Advanced(TM) Tree & Shrub Insect Control even moves into new growth after application, thus protecting it, too! To get complete protection, the insecticide must distribute completely through the tree/shrub. Depending on the size and health of the plant, this may take one week to three months (for very large trees). Rain or water cannot wash off this internal protection.
